How do I get an Indiana real estate license?

To become a licensed real estate broker in Indiana includes completing the following:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • You must have obtained a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED)
  • Successfully complete 90 hours of approved real estate education
  • Complete a background check
  • Successfully pass the Indiana Broker Real Estate Exam
  • Be sponsored by an actively licensed real estate managing broker
  • Schedule the Indiana broker licensing exam via PSI.

 

How long does it take to get an Indiana real estate license?

The amount of time to get your Indiana real estate broker license varies due to the number of steps involved. Most complete the requirements within a few months. These include completing education, scheduling the IN broker licensing exam, successfully passing the licensing exam, and finding a managing broker to support you.

 

How much does it cost to get a Indiana real estate license?

The total cost to get a Indiana real estate license depends on a number of factors. The Indiana state exam costs $61 and to activate your license costs $60. Pre-Licensing coursework pricing with The CE Shop starts at $489. After coursework, application, and activation fees, you will join a board of realtors and depending on the association you join it could be up to $1,500.

 

How long is the Indiana real estate license exam?

The 3 exams are composed of 100 questions each. You will need to pass each exam with a 75% or higher and the exams are not timed.

 

What are the rules for reciprocity for Indiana real estate licenses?

Indiana doesn't have agreements of reciprocity with any states at the moment. However, you may still qualify if your original licensure state has similar requirements to Indiana.

 

What are the continuing education requirements after getting my real estate license?

Indiana requires all agents to complete a 30-hour post-licensing course within 2 years of licensure. This course satisfies your CE for your first 2 years of licensure.
